Nutzerorientierte Bausanierung bedeutet eine gegenüber dem konventionellen Vorgehen deutlich verstärkte Ausrichtung des Planungs- und Sanierungsprozesses auf die Anforderungen und Bedürfnisse des zukünftigen Nutzers eines Gebäudes. Dies hat einerseits ein hochwertigeres Produkt zum Ergebnis, erfordert andererseits aber auch den Einsatz neuer Methoden und Baustoffe sowie ein vernetztes Zusammenarbeiten aller am Bauprozess Beteiligten. Der Fokus der Publikation liegt dabei auf den Bereichen, die eine hohe Relevanz für die nutzerorientierte Bausanierung aufweisen. Dabei handelt es sich insbesondere um: Computergestütztes Bauaufmaß und digitale Bauwerksmodellierung (BIM), bauphysikalische Methoden zur Optimierung von Energieeffizienz und Behaglichkeit bei der Sanierung von Bestandsgebäuden, zerstörungsfreie Untersuchungsmethoden im Rahmen einer substanzschonenden Bauzustandsanalyse und Entwicklung von Ergänzungsbaustoffen.
Das Projekt nuBau ist eine Kooperation zwischen den Fakultäten Bauingenieurwesen und Architektur der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. Die beteiligten Professuren sind: Bauphysik, Informatik in der Architektur, Polymere Werkstoffe und Werkstoffe des Bauens.
The Bauhaus Summer School series provides an international forum for an exchange of methods and skills related to the interaction between different disciplines of modern engineering science.
The 2012 civil engineering course was held in August over two weeks at Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. The overall aim was the exchange
of research and modern scientific approaches in the field of model validation and simulation between well-known experts acting as lecturers
and active students. Besides these educational intentions the social and cultural component of the meeting has been in the focus. 48 graduate and doctoral students from 20 different countries and 22 lecturers from 12 countries attended this summer school. Among
other aspects, this activity can be considered successful as it raised the
sensitivity towards both the significance of research in civil engineering
and the role of intercultural exchange.
This volume summarizes and publishes some of the results: abstracts
of key note papers presented by the experts and selected student
research works. The overview reflects the quality of this summer school.
Furthermore the individual contributions confirm that for active students
this event has been a research forum and a special opportunity
to learn from the experiences of the researchers in terms of methodology
and strategies for research implementation in their current work.
Text classification deals with discovering knowledge in texts and is used for extracting, filtering, or retrieving information in streams and collections. The discovery of knowledge is operationalized by modeling text classification tasks, which is mainly a human-driven engineering process. The outcome of this process, a text classification model, is used to inductively learn a text classification solution from a priori classified examples. The building blocks of modeling text classification tasks cover four aspects: (1) the way examples are represented, (2) the way examples are selected, (3) the way classifiers learn from examples, and (4) the way models are selected.
This thesis proposes methods that improve the prediction quality of text classification solutions for unseen examples, especially for non-standard tasks where standard models do not fit. The original contributions are related to the aforementioned building blocks: (1) Several topic-orthogonal text representations are studied in the context of non-standard tasks and a new representation, namely co-stems, is introduced. (2) A new active learning strategy that goes beyond standard sampling is examined. (3) A new one-class ensemble for improving the effectiveness of one-class classification is proposed. (4) A new model selection framework to cope with subclass distribution shifts that occur in dynamic environments is introduced.
Occupant needs with regard to residential buildings are not well known due to a lack of representative scientific studies. To improve the lack of data, a large scale study was carried out using a Post Occupancy Evaluation of 1,416 building occupants. Several criteria describing the needs of occupants were evaluated with regard to their subjective level of relevance. Additionally, we investigated the degree to which deficiencies subjectively exist, and the degree to which occupants were able to accept them. From the data obtained, a hierarchy of criteria was created. It was found that building occupants ranked the physiological needs of air quality and thermal comfort the highest. Health hazards such as mould and contaminated building materials were unacceptable for occupants, while other deficiencies were more likely to be tolerated. Occupant satisfaction was also investigated. We found that most occupants can be classified as satisfied, although some differences do exist between different populations. To explain the relationship between the constructs of what we call relevance, acceptance, deficiency and satisfaction, we then created an explanatory model. Using correlation and regression analysis, the validity of the model was then confirmed by applying the collected data. The results of the study are both relevant in shaping further research and in providing guidance on how to maximize tenant satisfaction in real estate management.
