N2 - Simulation as supporting method to analyse difficult processes is already successful implemented in different domains, but it is also increasingly used in the construction industry. Above all infrastructure construction sites are characterised by enormous pressure of time and costs. For solving these problems and controlling the construction progress, simulation tools can be used more intensively. Up to now these tools are applied only in the start-up phase of a project for the optimisation of construction and logistic processes. But especially the construction phase is characterised by disturbances and changes. The topic of this master thesis “Simulation – critical path monitoring for the construction of a bridge curb” deals with developments to optimise the controlling of the construction progress by using simulation. At first different modelling methods are showed and analysed, how they can be used to simulate construction processes. Then a detailed investigation of the building of a bridge curb follows. Subsequent this construction progress is simulated with the computer program “Plant Simulation”. Finally limits of simulation tools are analysed and future lines of development are demonstrated.
