T1  - Finite Element Analysis of Building Collapse during Demolition
N2  - A computational strategy that employs a multi-level approach to model the physical phenomena that occur during a structural collapse is used to simulate demolition of a multi-story precast concrete building. The building is modeled by means of beam elements, whose rigidity relations have been derived from a fracture mechanics-based model of cracked RC panels and joints. The motion and deformation of the collapsing building are solved as a transient dynamic problem in the finite displacements/ rotations range. The presented approach appears as an efficient way to verify whether a proposed demolition method leads to the desired mechanism of building collapse. By simulating various blasting scenarios, the most suitable demolition procedure is identified.

N2  - Auf der Suche nach Möglichkeiten zur Kostendämpfung im Bauen bieten sich zahlreiche Felder an (neue Bauorganisationsstrukturen, veränderte städtebauliche Ansätze, Baurechtsreform, etc.), zum wesentlichen Aufgabenbereich des Architekten gehören aber speziell konstruktive Detaillösungen. Mit ca. 40% ist der Anteil der Lohn- und Lohnnebenkosten immer noch der Größte in der Summe der Bauwerkskosten (z.B. Material ca. 30%). Die einzig seriöse Möglichkeit diesen Posten zu reduzieren, basiert auf dem Prinzip der Vorfertigung. Der moderate (vier bis fünf Stockwerke) Geschoßwohnungsbau stellt bei verantwortungsvoller Betrachtung (Flächenverbrauch/Erschließungsfläche/Gebäudeoberfläche) die einzig vernünftige Gebäudetypologie für den Wohnungsbau dar und bietet gleichzeitig Möglichkeiten zur Fertigung kleiner Serien. Die Untersuchung von einigen Neuentwicklungen von verschiedenen Bausystemen basiert auf der erarbeiteten Definition nachhaltiger Beurteilungskriterien für das Bauen. Die Arbeit geht weiterhin den Fragen nach, welche Tendenzen sich in der Entwicklung der Baukonstruktionen im Geschoßwohnungsbau durch geänderte Anforderungen abzeichnen, welchen Kriterien diese Entwicklungen zugrunde liegen und sie versucht aufzuzeigen, in welchen Bereichen Innovationspotentiale verborgen sind und unterbreitet Optimierungsvorschläge.
N2  - Searching for possibilities of cost reduction in building a wide range of ways can be thought of (new structures of organisation, different urban planning, reforming building laws). But the main duty of an architect is to be specifically concerned with construction details. With about 40% the cost for manual work is still the major part in the sum of building expenses (material about 30%). The only sensible way to reduce this position bases on the principle of prefabrication. The moderate (up to four or five floors) housing block represents under a responsive perspective (use of land / access area / building surface) the only sensible housing typology and offers at the same time the chance of producing building systems in small series. An examination of selected innovations for construction systems bases on a definition of sustainable criteria for building. Furthermore the thesis examines questions like which tendencies can be expected for construction systems in housing, which aspects they follow and also in which parts innovative potentials are hidden and it suggests optimisations.
