She is a licensed architect in America and the Netherlands, as well as a member of the AIA, but studied philosophy from undergraduate to doctorate at the University of Amsterdam. She has taught philosophy and design at various institutions, including twelve years at TUDelft, and as a guest professor at the Tokyo Science University and Milano Politecnico. Her publications include The Architectonic of Philosophy: Plato, Aristotle, Leibniz (Amsterdam: University of Amsterdam Press, 2007), Crossovers (with A.Graafland), Meditations on Space (2010), Aggregates (2010), and Chronotopologies: Hybrid Spatialities and Multiple Temporalities (Amsterdam: Rodopi Press, forthcoming). Presently she is the founder and director of studiokav.com in Amsterdam, a multi-disciplinary and collaborative atelier.
