The adaptation for new requirements will commonly affect substantial changes in the general configuration of structures. The resulting revitalized structures are characterized by a hybrid design, where old and new, identical or diverse materials and members will be coupled in different ways. In the planning stage the treatment of these systems leads to application of complex and hybrid mechanical models respectively. High performance numerical instruments have to be applied for solving not only analysis but also targeted design problems. Because of the hybrid character of mechanical models in revitalization planning processes the use of hybrid technologies is advantageous. In this paper mixed domain technique will be used for connecting EFG and FE. The models derived will be adopted for design purposes of non-linear loaded hybrid structures. The investigations show a good adaptability of the meshless methods to the design of hybrid structures by using optimization strategies. Integrated information management systems should be related to process models to detect pending activities, deadlocks and alternatives of execution. Computational fluid-structure interaction provides a tool to predict this interaction and complement or eventually replace expensive experiments. Partitioned analyses techniques enjoy great popularity for the numerical simulation of these interactions. This is due to their computational superiority over simultaneous, i.e. fully coupled monolithic approaches, as they allow the independent use of suitable discretization methods and modular analysis software. We use, for the fluid, GLS stabilized finite elements on a moving domain based on the incompressible instationary Navier-Stokes equations, where the formulation guarantees geometric conservation on the deforming domain. The structure is discretized by nonlinear, three-dimensional shell elements. Commonly used sequential staggered coupling schemes may exhibit instabilities due to the so-called artificial added mass effect. As best remedy to this problem subiterations should be invoked to guarantee kinematic and dynamic continuity across the fluid-structure interface. Since iterative coupling algorithms are computationally very costly, their convergence rate is very decisive for their usability. To ensure and accelerate the convergence of this iteration the updates of the interface position are relaxed. Wind Engineering is a particular field of Civil Engineering that evaluates the resistance of structures caused by wind loads. Bridges, high-rise buildings, chimneys and telecommunication towers might be susceptible to wind vibrations due to their increased flexibility, therefore a special design is carried for this aspect. Advancement in technology and scientific studies permit us doing research at small scale for more accurate analyses. The contribution promotes a recent journal paper [1]. The approach relies on well known series expansion methods for simulation of a Gaussian random field. The proposed method requires all cross correlated fields over the domain to share an identical autocorrelation function and the cross correlation structure between each pair of simulated fields to be simply defined by a cross correlation coefficient. Such relations result in specific properties of eigenvectors of covariance matrices of discretized field over the domain. These properties are used to decompose the eigenproblem which must normally be solved in computing the series expansion into two smaller eigenproblems. Such decomposition represents a significant reduction of computational effort. Non-Gaussian components of a multivariate random field are proposed to be simulated via memoryless transformation of underlying Gaussian random fields for which the Nataf model is employed to modify the correlation structure. In this method, the autocorrelation structure of each field is fulfilled exactly while the cross correlation is only approximated. The associated errors can be computed before performing simulations and it is shown that the errors happen especially in the cross correlation between distant points and that they are negligibly small in practical situations.}, subject = {Angewandte Informatik}, language = {en} } @inproceedings{VolkovaKazakevitch2003, author = {Volkova, Viktorija and Kazakevitch, M. The results of the extensive investigations of the behaviour of linear dynamic systems and symmetrical system with double well potential under polyharmonic excitation are given in the paper. Phase space of dynamic systems is multi-dimensional. Each point of this space is characterized by not less than four co-ordinates. In particular: displacement, velocity, acceleration and time. Real space has three dimensions. It is more convenient for the analysis. We consider the phase space as limited to three dimensions, namely displacement, velocity and acceleration. Another choice of parameters of phase planes is also possible [1, 2]. Phase trajectory on a plane is of the greatest interest. It is known that accelerations of points are more sensitive to deviations of oscillations from harmonic ones. It is connected with the fact that power criteria on it are interpreted most evidently. Besides, dependence is back symmetric relative to axis of the diagram of elastic characteristic. Only the phase trajectories allow establishing a type and a level of non-linearity of a system. The results of the extensive investigations of the dynamic systems behaviour under polyharmonic excitation are given in the paper. The use of the given phase trajectories enables us to determine with a high degree of reliability the following peculiarities: - presence or absence of non-linear character of behaviour of a dynamic system; - type of non-linearity; - type of dynamic process (oscillations of the basic tone, combinative oscillations, chaotic oscillations.). We investigate the cases when such a combined mesh occurs more preferable for bivariate data interpolation than a pure triangulation. First we describe a modification of the well-known flipping algorithm that constructs a locally optimal combined mesh with a predefined quality criterion. Then we introduce two quality measures for triangular and quadrangular domains and present the results of a computational experiment that compares integral interpolation errors and errors in gradients caused by the piecewise surface models produced by the flipping algorithm with the introduced quality measures. The experiment shows that triangular meshes with the Delaunay quality measure provide better interpolation accuracy only if the interpolated function is strictly convex, as well as a saddle-shaped function is better interpolated by bilinear patches within a combined mesh. For a randomly shaped function combined meshes demonstrate smaller error values and better stability in compare with pure triangulations. A vision of an adaptive geometry model for computer-assisted building surveying}, doi = {10.25643/bauhaus-universitaet.172}, url = {http://nbn-resolving.de/urn:nbn:de:gbv:wim2-20111215-1722}, year = {2004}, abstract = {The paper describes a concept for the step-by-step computer-aided capture and representation of geometric building data in the context of planning-oriented building surveying. Selected aspects of the concept have been implemented and tested as prototypes. The process of step-by-step capture and representation is determined by the order in which the user experiences the building. Only the information that the user knows (can see) or can reasonably deduce is represented. In addition approaches to the flexible combination of different measuring techniques and geometric abstractions are described which are based upon geodetic computational adjustment.}, subject = {Architektur}, language = {en} } @inproceedings{TheilerTauscherTulkeetal., author = {Theiler, Michael and Tauscher, Eike and Tulke, Jan and Riedel, Thomas}, title = {Visualisierung von IFC-Objekten mittels Java3D}, series = {Forum Bauinformatik 2009}, booktitle = {Forum Bauinformatik 2009}, editor = {von Both, Petra and Koch, Volker}, publisher = {Universit{\"a}tsverlag}, address = {Karlsruhe}, isbn = {978-3-86644-396-9}, doi = {10.25643/bauhaus-universitaet.1814}, url = {http://nbn-resolving.de/urn:nbn:de:gbv:wim2-20130107-18149}, pages = {149 -- 159}, abstract = {Die Planung komplexer Bauwerke erfolgt zunehmend mit rechnergest{\"u}tzten Planungswerkzeugen, die den Export von Bauwerksinformationen im STEP-Format auf Grundlage der Industry Foundation Classes (IFC) erm{\"o}glichen.
